We have all received the Nigerian e-mails offering lottery winnings, over-invoiced contract proceeds, or maybe our long lost uncle left a gigantic sum of $$ in a Nigerian bank. Would it make sense to verify the identity of the person offering this to you? Yes, but the normal means of verification(e.g. passports, licenses) can ALL be forged. The only way to really verify someone's identity is to have them take a picture of themself holding a sign with a password phrase. Does this make sense? Not really but they fall for it. I have also included the clowns who sent me their bad fakes.

Got to 419eater.com and enjoy the fun. These are hard to get even the fake ones. The scammers will only do this if they think you are about ready to fork over a bunch of cash.

I replied:

Adams,

I do have a distant relative named J.B. McCavity who I believe had some business dealings overseas. I've asked some of my family and they also recall the same. If it's the same 5th cousin, twice removed he used to like to be called B.J. Sounds tragic about the car crash. Did he suffer?

To answer your question: I'm single and 37. My cell phone is getting repaired and I don't like using my business phone for personal affairs.

Regards, Phil

We fire a couple of emails back and forth he asked for somemore info. I reply

Adams,

I didn't know that B.J. was married with children. I thought that the unfortuneate smelting accident as a child had rendered him sterile?

I know your job must be hard. I'm trying to settle my family estate right now. My father died last June and didn't have a will. My brother and I are trying to liquidate all of his oil holdings as we speak. The estate is considerable and seem like our government want's us to pay 30% of the value (USD$2.5 million).

I was watching the discovery channel on the television the other day and it was a program on Africa. Do all the women in the villages go topless? I'd like to visit one of those villages one day. I love those topless African women.

To answer your questions:

4 Cell phone is being repaired. Those companies seem to take forever to repair your phone!
5. No fax. Can you just scan the paperwork and send them as an attachment to an email?

Getting good.

That www.419eater.com is hilarious - check out some of his latest updates, specifically "A Mark of my Respect" in which he actually manages to persuade some chump to actually get himself a tattoo (photos included) with the slogan "Baited by Shiver"

Absolutely priceless, and the guy who owns the site is my new hero :biggrinin
